Less than 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to putting an end to insecurity, insurgency and banditry in Nigeria, the bandits have struck with renewed venom.
Bandits Storm Niger State, kill and abduct
Panic and fear have overwhelmed the people as bandits storm Niger State, killing six people and abducting another fifteen. They carried out this operation in two local government areas of the State.
One of those killed was at Pandogari town in Rafi Local Government Area, where five people were abducted. Simultaneously, the remaining five were murdered in Gurmana in the Shiroro Local Government Area of the state. Ten persons were kidnapped in this incident.

Apart from the victims of the murder and abduction, many people from the villages were injured after a stampede as a consequence of the bandits’ activities.
The injured villagers are receiving treatment from the medical centres in the affected local governments.
Eyewitnesses said that while the attack was being carried out, a helicopter hovered above, apparently providing some cover for the attackers as the bandits storm Niger.
