Atiku reacts to Joe Biden’s confirmation as president
Atiku Abubakar, Former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has reacted to the confirmation of Joe Biden as the President of the United States.
Atiku pointed out that the importance of strong institutions was made evident in the confirmation of Joe Biden, and proved how vital they can be in the sustenance of proper democracy.
US lawmakers officially confirmed Biden as the country’s 46th president and Kamala Harris as Vice President after the initial seating was disrupted by a violent occupation of the Capitol by protesters.
Biden and Harris were confirmed under heavily-armed guard after police regained control of the Capitol in Washington.
In his reaction, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar tweeted, This is a lesson to be learnt: that strong institutions and not strong personalities are the bulwark of a rich democratic culture.
It is important to note that President of the United States of America, USA, Donald Trump has finally conceded to President-elect Joe Biden after protracted bickering on purported electoral fraud.
