On Sunday, 11th of October, armed men attacked the residence of Engineer Hassan Sabo Jama’are, the Director of Work in Abubakar Tafewa Balewa University and stabbed him to death at about 10 pm.
The deceased was attacked by these armed men as he was driving into his home in the Tudun Salmanu area of Bauchi where they killed him and made away with his vehicle.
According to the source Engr. Hassan cried for help while he was being attacked by these armed men but none of his neighbours could come to his rescue at the time of the attack. It was after he the killers went away that neighbours and family came to his aide. Upon seeing that he had been stabbed, he was rushed to the Abubakar Tafewa Balewa University Teaching Hospital.
Mohammed Ahmed Wakil, Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) confirmed this unfortunate incident this morning and said that it was reported to the ‘C division’ of the state police who conducted an immediate search for signs of ten robbers or the stolen vehicle but to no avail.
In his statement, Wakil said,
“After stabbing him, the robbers went away with his car, Honda Accord with registration number, EKY 388 CP.
“After the robbers left, his neighbours and family members took him to the hospital where he was confirmed dead”
The PPRO said that the state Commissioner of Police, Tanko Laval Jimeta has launched a thorough investigation and the killers will be brought to book.
