Some armed men have taken the life of Sylvester Ntefre, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at his house in Ekparakwa, in what seemed to be a really calculated move.
They stormed OrukAnam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, where the active Chieftain’s life was cut short and reportedly abandoned a black toyota Jeep driven during their operation, as the news had it that they were immediately hunted after their attack.
It was also hinted that the move in the first place was supposed to be an abduction but turned into an assassination as things might have gone otherwise as against their initial arrangements by the armed men.
The sad killing that took place yesterday, according to a resident who witnessed the attack, had the gunmen inhumanly drag the Former Chairman and some members of his family before dealing the last blow that led to his death.
Eyewitness Narrates How Youths Chased Armed Men
Mrs. Sarah Williamson, the woman who narrated the story, said the killers fired shots in the air to frighten the neighbours but suddenly attracted the attention of the youths who raised the alarm against the gunmen, forcing the whole community to chase them without any success of apprehending the perpetrators.
However, when contacted, AKwa Ibom State Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Mcdon, said he was yet to receive an official report on the incident but promised to react once the command is briefed.
