Taraba State’s Commissioner for Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Naphtali Kefas, is reportedly dead. This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by Governor Darius Ishaku’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan-Abu.
The late Commissioner died on Thursday May 7, at the Federal Medical Center in Jalingo after a prolonged sickness. He passed away barely a month after the Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon. Makus Senlo died in a Yola hospital.
Before his death, Kefas was taken to Dubai for treatment at different occasions.
Bala Dan-Abu said the demise of Kefas has robbed the state of the services of a patriotic and hard-working gentleman.
He added that, “the late Kefas was a very gentle and compassionate man, the reason why he was posted to the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation to help implement government’s pragmatic programme of giving hope and succour to the poor and the needy.”
