An Anambra State pensioner, Sir Benjamin Ezeokeke has donated all of his pension to the Anambra State Government in support of the fight against COVID-19.
Sir Benjamin Ezeokeke who is a retired secondary school teacher wrote this in a letter he addressed to the state government in which he also wrote his pension identity card number, telling the government to use his pension as his own contribution in the fight to combat against the virus in Anambra state.
The pensioner wrote, “This is to commend and encourage Governor Willie Obiano in his efforts in cushioning the hardships posed by the deadly Coronavirus pandemic. I hope that this will also show the Governor that Ndi Anambra appreciates his giant strides in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Sir Benjamin Ezeokeke said he decided to donate this through the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) because of the fact that the station is effective and always ready to implement the vision of the state government. He also noted that his contribution, though small, is given with a grateful heart and prayers for the government.
