Fatima Ribadu, daughter of the former Nigerian Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has finally apologiesed for the kind of of dress she wore on her wedding day.
She recently got married to Aliyu, son of a former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubarkar in a ceremony which hosted several big wigs and political stalwarts.
Muslims and social media users raised eyebrows after sighting her in an elegant and seemingly see-through wedding dress.
Days after the wedding to her new husband, Fatima has decided to apologise to family members and friends who feel offended with her wedding dress. She stressed that some of the people think her wedding dress exposed her body but did not understand that the dress had same colour as her skin.
“I cannot expose my skin. My wedding dress has the same colour with that of my skin, but I still apologize to my friends and family who don’t like what happened and I hope to learn from this.”
Fatima was trolled on social media after seeing her wedding dress, as they wondered why she would dress in a way that does not conform with the Islamic religious beliefs.
