Hollywood actress, Lupita Nyong’o has called for the end to Police brutality which has been the battle cry of 2020 worldwide.
Lupita Nyong’o, a Kenyan-American in a lengthy post on her social media page talked about the Lekki shooting and police brutality in the world.
On the 2oth of October 2020, unarmed protesters were shot by men in Nigerian Army uniform. This got the protesters and world stunned after the footage went viral.
Reacting to the turn of events, ‘Black Panther Sta’r, Lupita Nyong’o called for the end to police brutality. She revealed that the resounding battle cry across the globe in 2020 is about the police.
Lupita stated that the world wants police powers reevaluated, their organizations held accountable and systems rebuilt to serve the people.
She wrote, “I echo the declaration of the people in Nigeria to END POLICE BRUTALITY.
“The call for their lives to be valued by the leaders of their nation” she added.
The message preached early 2020 is ‘Black Lives Matter’ after police brutality in the US. Nigeria have also called for END POLICE brutality after many young Nigerians lost their lives to SARS.
