The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu has just tested positive to coronavirus. This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi Kalu on Monday. According to him, the governor has gone into isolation since testing positive and is currently receiving treatment.

In the official statement released regarding this, the governor has given a directive to the deputy governor, Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu to act in his place pending when he, Okezie, returns to full duty.
He encouraged the people of Abia State to take the virus seriously and ensure they adhere to all the precautions stipulated by the NCDC.
The Governor is currently stable and in high spirit.
