The Special Assistant to Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has frowned at the comments made by some Nigerian clerics, who are fond of painting the country black.
In an article titled Nigeria Will Fly Again, Adesina, who hailed Pastor W.F Kumuyi of the Deeper Life Bible Church, described the cleric as someone who rarely talks about secular or controversial issues.
The Presidential spokesman stated that the recent preaching of Kumuyi is an indication that Nigeria can still fly again despite the challenges bedevilling the country if only the people can stop hate, killing and divisive utterances.
Adesina said Kumuyi, in his preaching, revealed that God is still interested in Nigeria, but the citizens must eschew utterances that could damage the expected change.
According to Adesina, Pastor Kumuyi’s message is profound, encouraging and comforting, unlike the usual news from some pulpits, organizations, and Nigerian clerics.
Femi Adesina Hails Kumuyi
He noted that many Nigerian clerics are fond of encouraging their members to hate the country and its leadership and give negative prophecies.
Adesina wondered if other preachers read copies of the Holy Bible different from the one Pastor Kumuyi reads, adding that here are questions to answer on Judgment day.
The presidential spokesman said Nigeria would be a better country if only the citizens could listen to preachers like Kumuyi.
