The West African Examinations Council, WAEC has released the results of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, 2021 WASSCE results for private candidates.
According to the Head of the Nigeria National Office, WAEC, Mr Patrick Areghan, the examination was primarily designed to help candidates seeking admission to tertiary institutions to reduce the waiting time for results.
Areghan stated that the analysis of the statistics of the performance of candidates shows that 2,938 candidates obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five subjects out of the 7,289 candidates that sat for the examination.
Meanwhile, out of the 2,938 candidates that obtained credit and above, 1,396 candidates were male and 1,542 were female.

Candidates who sat for the 2021 WASSCE are to visit www.waecdirect.org.
- Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number.
- (This is your 7-Digit centre number followed by your 3-digit candidate number eg. 4123456789)
- Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year eg. 2021
- Select the Type of Examination
- Enter the e-PIN Voucher Number
- Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your e-PIN
- Click Submit and wait for the results window to come up.
In the meantime, WAEC has disclosed that its 2021 WASSCE for school candidates, earlier scheduled for May/June, may not hold.
According to the examination Council, the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic is still much felt in the education sector. The Council said the pandemic had distorted the entire education calendar.
However, the Council appealed to all the school principals and proprietors to keep the stipulated timelines for candidates’ enrollment for the examination.
