The Nigerian Army has reacted to the recent declaration of Yoruba Nation by Sunday Igboho, who announced that the Southwest region is no longer part of Nigeria.
Reacting to the declaration, the Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, said the Military would soon move against separatist agitators such as Igboho and Asari Dokubo, who recently announced the establishment of Biafra Customary Government.
Attahiru vowed that the Army would deal decisively with every form of the security threat posed by the secessionist agitators like Igboho and Dokubo.
He added that the Nigerian Army under his leadership would remain proactive and committed to decisively dealing with any group or individuals that threaten Nigeria’s peace and stability.
Declaration Of Yoruba Nation
You will recall that Igboho had claimed that Nigeria’s significant resources were in the hands of Northerners, stressing that Yoruba people were living like slaves in their land.
Also, Dokubo announced the establishment of the Biafra Customary Government, in which he incorporated some parts of the South-East and South-South as part of the territory.
