A former Lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye, has criticized the 9th National Assembly, which he described as a waste of economic and political space.
Reacting to the recent confirmation of the former service chiefs as non-career ambassadors, Melaye noted that it is disheartening that members of the 9th National Assembly have spent their last integrity currency.
Melaye accused members of the Senate of living in integrity deficit, as he also stressed the need to act.
According to the former Lawmaker, the service chief’s confirmation shows that the 9th National Assembly is an Aso Rock department.
“Confirming those you recommended for sack more than once for gross incompetence as Ambassadors is a shame.” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, Melaye has also reacted to the statement credited to Senator Smart Adeyemi, the Senator representing Kogi West in the Senate.
9th National Assembly
Senator Melaye apologised on behalf of Adeyemi for calling Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, names.
The Abia State Government has also reacted to how Adeyemi described the state as such that a drunkard governs.
According to Onyebuchi Ememanka, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ikpeazu, the state government said the Governor advised the Senator to seek psychiatric help quickly.
Ememanka opined that the Senator is either suffering from a protracted mental illness case or is battling with occasional fits of schizophrenia which manifests in making careless, unrelated and incoherent statements.
