The Director-General of the National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has reminded Corps members that white-collar jobs were not readily available.
Ibrahim, however, urged them to avail themselves of the opportunities provided by the Government through the empowerment programs.
He added that the NYSC has trained thousands of Corps Members.
According to him, most of the trained Corps members have become employers of labor and wealth creators.
Meanwhile, the DG hailed the Federal government for its various programs aimed at empowering the Nigerian youths.
He made the commendation while addressing the 2020 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1A Corps members.
The event was held at the new NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Okada, Edo State.
Shuaibu noted that the establishment of the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund amongst other programs would go a long way in making the youth self-employed.
He said the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program was also aimed at equipping Corps members with skills.
