The Commissioner of Health in Enugu State, Dr Emmanuel Obi has confirmed the outbreak of Yellow fever in the state.
Obi listed the affected three Local Government Areas as Nsukka, Isi-Uzo and Igbo-Etiti.
He stated that the state government has received reports of strange deaths within the communities.
According to him, the Enugu State Ministry of Health Rapid Response has visited the affected LGAs.
The commissioner said the Response team visited the LGAs to investigate the reports and take samples for testing.
He said the samples have been sent to the National Reference Laboratory at the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
Furthermore, Obi said the samples were sent to Abuja for a complete examination.
However, he commiserated with families that lost their loved ones to the Yellow fever outbreak.
Meanwhile, he advised that people should keep their environment clean.
