Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has assured the people of Oyo State that the incumbent governor of the state, Engr. Seyi Makinde would be unseated in the 2023 gubernatorial elections.
Fayemi, who made this known after the reconciliation meeting held in Ibadan said the target is to remove Makinde whom he described as his very good brother and friend.
He said he can’t campaign against a sitting governor as the Chairman of Nigeria’s Governors Forum adding that the plan to unseat Makinde is about his party, the APC and the national assignment that he was assigned to do.
According to Fayemi, Oyo state members of the APC have come together and are ready to unseat the incumbent governor come 2023.
Meanwhile, a former Oyo State governor, Otunba Alao Akala has been endorsed as leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state.
The decision to make him Oyo APC Leader was reached at the party’s reconciliation meeting chaired by Governor, Kayode Fayemi.
