Against the backdrop of election malpractices that have been recorded across the African continent, former President, Goodluck Jonathan has highlighted ways to conduct credible elections in Nigeria and Africa at large.
Jonathan, who stated that true democracy is attained when votes count identified electronic voting as the best alternative to ensuring credible elections.
He noted that beyond the routine conduct of elections, votes of the citizens must represent a constitutional democratic setting if Africa will move forward.
Speaking at the 2020 edition of Osasu Show Symposium held on Thursday, September 10, the ex-president added that electronic voting is the only alternative given the way elections are conducted across the African continent.
Though Jonathan admitted that the electronic voting system is susceptible to hacking among other glitches, he stressed that e-voting is the way to go.
It was gathered that the 2020 edition of the symposium focused on issues hindering the growth of Africa as well as the ways around them.
