A masquerade has been seen asking out a lady and getting her number in Nnewi, Anambra State. The video of the masquerade and the lady has since gone viral after it was shared on the internet.
In the viral video, the masquerade stood at the front of a shop then asked for the number of a girl and also made sure he dialed the number so that she gave him the right one.
He went on to ask if the lady is on Whatsapp as his followers who were seen with sticks watched on. This got another lady running background commentary in Igbo language to grin.
In some parts of Nigeria, the mystical belief is that masquerades are ancestors. While some are dancers, others are believed to be messenger’s of god. They are also an important part of the rich culture and traditions of the people.
