The Nasarawa state government has announced its plan to sack 1, 251 teachers in the state.
According to the Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Mohammed Dan’azimi, the teachers are to be sacked for not possessing the requisite teaching ability.
While inaugurating a seven-man implementation committee to disengage the teachers, Mohammed told journalists that there will be no tolerance for quackery.
Meanwhile, the secretary of the board, Hajia Hashiya Ahmed, stated that the committee has been given the mandate to take every necessary step over the teachers.

He added that the board will ensure that the affected teachers are registered with the National Teachers Institute and College of Education in Akwanga to obtain requisite teaching qualification.
Hashiya reiterated that no teacher will be allowed to teach in any primary school in the state without a requisite teaching qualification.
