Pregnant woman births prematurely, dies shortly after.
A 32 Year Old pregnant woman named Jane Ekpe has been reported dead after she was kicked in the stomach by another woman identified as Florence Ugwu at the Okwo Ngbo market in Ohaukwu, Ebonyi State.
The two women got into a heated argument which resulted in Ugwu kicking pregnant Ekpe in the stomach.
Reports have it that the pregnant woman started bleeding and was rushed to the hospital where she was delivered of the baby. She died shortly after the delivery.
Loveth Odah, the spokesperson of the Ebonyi State Police confirmed the incident and also disclosed that Philip Sule, the Commissioner of Police has launched an immediate investigation into the incident
According to Odah, Jane’s father, Chief Bartholomew Ekpe regent of Umuezeoka ngbo reported to the Ohaukwu Police Division that his daughter who was about 6 months pregnant was kicked in the stomach over an argument by one Florence Ugwu aged 34.
In Loveth’s statement,
“He stated that that his daughter started bleeding profusely and was rushed to hospital where she was delivered of the premature baby and she gave up the ghost.
“The DPO quickly mobilised his men to the place and recovered the corpse and deposited at Comprehensive hospital Ngbo.
