Following the announcement made by the Republic of Madagascar that it had discovered a herbal cure for the treatment of COVID-19, the African Union, AU says it had contacted the country over the efficacy of the herbal remedy.
In a statement via its website, the AU said the African Centre for Disease Control would review the potency of the herbal remedy after getting the necessary information from Madagascar.
AU In Talks With Madagascar Over Cure For COVID-19
According to the statement, the AU Commissioner for Social Affairs, Amira ElFadil had a meeting with the representatives of the Republic of Madagascar, and they agreed on how to get the needed details about the herbal cure.
Amira noted that the review of the herbal cure would revolve around global ethical standard to ensure the needed scientific evidence about the tonic announced by Madagascar for the treatment of COVID-19 patient.
You will recall that Madagascar’s President, Andry Rajoelina had on 29 April 2020 made a presentation to his peers regarding the herbal remedy in a teleconference meeting of the Assembly of AU Heads of State and Government.
The herbal drink named COVID -ORGANICS (CVO) was manufactured by Dr Jerome Munyangi from Madagascar.
