The second case of Coronavirus in Rivers State has been confirmed on a 62-year-old returnee from the UK.
According to the State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Princewill Chike, the victim came from the UK on March 21 but spent a month at the Lagos International Airport during which he developed a flu-like symptom.
Princewill added that the victim has been on self-isolation since he came into the country but his test result confirmed him to be Coronavirus positive.
“He is presently at isolation and treatment centre at Eleme, in Eleme local government area, which has a 30-bed space capacity.”
Princewill also maintained that “the risk communications will continue and that the treatment centre is active, noting that the state has 35 persons under medical surveillance and close monitoring who returned from abroad not too long ago”.
