On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu embarked on a three-day official visit to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. The visit follows an invitation from President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
President Tinubu arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja around 2 p.m., where he was greeted by senior military personnel and government officials before boarding the presidential jet. Notable figures present at the airport included the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje; Governors Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State; the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; and the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Earlier, Presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale announced that during the visit, President Tinubu would engage in discussions with President Mbasogo and finalize agreements related to oil, gas, and security. Ngelale also mentioned that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tugga, along with other officials, would accompany the president to explore opportunities for enhancing bilateral relations.
