Ogun state monarch, oba Ayinde Odetola, the Olu of Agobo village in Ogun state has been gruesomely murdered by hooligans alongside four of his aides following an invasion that happened on Monday.
According to reports, the victims were first killed and then burned to ashes in their car by the hooligans at around 11:00 Am.
Rumour has it that the problem started when the late king was inaugurated by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Michael Gbadebo, in the village believed to be under the reign of Owu Kingdom.
However, the residents of the village rejected his inauguration because he was an Ake person.
Chief Mrs Adenike Akintade, who is one of the late king sisters affirmed that she had been discharged from the hospital yesterday morning, only to hear about the death of her brother.
Reminiscing her last discussion with her late brother, she stated that he called her on Saturday and pleaded that she reduced her activities because of her health.
She further added that they had recently lost one of their brothers a few months ago from the hands of hooligans.
The sad incident that led to the death of the Ogun state monarch was confirmed by the police spokesperson in Ogun State, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi. However, he denied that four of the monarch’s aides were also k!lled.
