On why the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA decided to turn off Globacom telecom service tower is not a mystery that can’t be unraveled.
The simple truth about the matter was that NCAA shutdown the Glo tower over the non payment of outstanding debt of 4.7 Billion Naira in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
According to Captain Musa Nuhu, the Director General of NCAA, the telecom company failed to make any attempt to clear the outstanding balance owed to the federal government of Nigeria.
He disclosed that the authorities commenced switching off their tower as the first line of action and other steps of would follow pending the outcome of the former.
Nuhu revealed that all other companies in the telecom business are meeting their payments, adding that Glo has refused to comply with the slated arrangements.
In his words, he said Globacom has not been papaying since 2007, stressing that until recently, the company paid only 500 Million out of the 5.2 billion owing, with the outstanding dept of 4.7 billion Naira.
