The family of one of the accused in the Dowen College student death has released a statement, noting that their son had no involvement in the torture that led to the 12-year-old death.
In a statement issued by the Kashamu family, they noted that their son, Michael Kashamu, stopped being a school father to the deceased before he was reportedly tortured and left with injuries.
The accused family also called for calm while supporting the ongoing investigation into the case. They agreed to cooperate to establish the truth fully and the cause of justice served.
They also encouraged the school management, parents and pupils of Dowen College and anyone with helpful information to volunteer to the Police and the Lagos State government.
