The Egyptian and Liverpool Fc forward Mohamed Salah breaks the English Premier League goalscoring record as the highest-scoring Africa to ever play in the Premier League. Salah, who has been unstoppable for Liverpool this season, scored a hat-trick of goals in their win over Ole Gunnar Solsksjaer side at Old Trafford.
Salah, who is now the third player to score a hat-trick at Old Trafford against Manchester United, overtakes former Chelsea and Ivory Coast forward Didier Drogba. Salah now have 107 goals in the Premier League after putting three past David De Gea on Sunday.
Salah on a Hat-Trick
He said after the game that he was delighted with his side’s performance and the three points; he told Sky Sports: “I think it is great to win Five nil here; we knew before the game it would be tough, so we played our game. We knew they would try to give everything, so we had to give 100%. We tried to play our football and created more chances. We did that, and we’re lucky to score.”
He also said that as long as the team keeps winning, he is happy to give his best. Liverpool, who are still in the race for the Premier League title, are 2nd on the log with 21 points in 9 games, and the Egyptian will be hoping to continue his goalscoring prowess when they host Brighton & Hoves Albion Saturday.
