A 29-year-old teacher, Odugbesan Ayodele Samson, has been arrested by the Police in Ogun State for allegedly kidnapping his 8-year-old former pupil, Rasaq Akeeb.
The suspect reportedly abducted Akeeb on Wednesday, November 4 and demanded N200,000 ransom from his mother to release him.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed this on yesterday in Abeokuta.

She told the police that she received a phone call from the suspect, who instructed her to pay the sum of N200,000 to secure her son’s release.
Oyeyemi said police detectives immediately launch intelligence-based investigation, which led to the discovery of the suspect’s hideout.
When interrogated, the police spokesperson said the suspect confessed to committing the crime but blamed it on devil.
The Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the anti-kidnapping unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and prosecution, Oyeyemi added.
