Niger state police have arrested a 60-year-old man for defiling an 8-year-old hawker in uncompleted building.
Operatives of the Niger State Police command have arrested a 60-year-old man identified as Haruna Lawal for allegedly raping an eight year old girl.
The alleged rapist was arrested in Wushishi town of Wushishi Local Government Area , Niger state.
Reports gathered that Haruna used the sum of N100 to lure the victim , who hawks fish on the streets, into an incomplete building in the area where he raped her.
This incident was confirmed by the Spokesperson of Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun who described the suspect as ‘wicked’ in his statement made after the arrest.
He added that the suspect will be prosecuted as soon as investigation is concluded.
Haruna Lawal confessed to the crime while being interrogated.
