ASUU Chairman, Abdurrahman Adamu, of the Federal University of Gusau, FUGUSAU, his house at Damba Quarters in Zamfara State was attacked by unknown gunmen.
In the early hours of the day, Wednesday, it was learnt that the armed men stormed his premises sited in the outskirt of the state and managed to abduct six persons.
They abducted five persons from his residence and picked a neighbour who was close to the crime scene and reportedly left the area without any trace.
It was also gathered that the kidnapped neighbour is a staff in the bursary department of the university and lived right beside the AUU Chairman who luckily escaped the kidnappers for reasons that he was not present at the time of the incident.
Those picked up by the abductors included Abdurrahman Adamu’s younger brother, a niece, a nephew, and two of his wives’ younger sisters as well.
According to one of the eyewitnesses at the invasion site, “Five of them and one Abbas Umar who is his neighbour and also a staff of Bursary Department, Federal University Gusau,” were all taken.
Sadly, the report stated that their abductors are yet to demand any ransom, as both himself and any other close family member are still hoping for a call confirming their safety.
