Federal Government, FG, has been issued a twenty-one-day deadline to come up with a genuine solution to the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC demands.
The gesture would be to address the ongoing issues with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, NASU, Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, SSANU, and National Association of Academic Technologists, NAAT.
A communique was issued yesterday and signed by both NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, and the congress’ General Secretary, Emmanuel Ugboaja, to declare their position with the Federal Government on ASUUStrike, among others.
The breach of agreement was pointed out by Wabba who insisted that the Government must honor the gentleman’s arrangement re-negotiated by both parties in 2009 but failed to see fruition.
As part of the declaration and stance against the government, the Union Chairman categorically stated that after the ultimatum expires, the union will decide on the next line of action if the government fails to resolve the impasse.
