Cheslie Kryst, a former beauty queen who represented the United States of America in different beauty pageants has committed suicide.
The New York City Police Department reported that 30-year-old Cheslie died after jumping from a highrise building in Manhattan.
The unfortunate incident that happened on Sunday was confirmed by the family and the NYCPD.
The family’s statement read, “In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined.”
Cheslie was an American television presenter, model, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss USA 2019.
As Miss USA, she represented the United States at the Miss Universe 2019 competition and finished in the top ten.
Cheslie was an attorney who received three degrees from two universities and an entertainment correspondent for Extra TV.
Extra TV reacting to the devastating news said, “Our hearts are broken. Cheslie was not just a vital part of our show. She was a beloved part of our Extra family and touched the entire staff. Our deepest condolences to all her family and friends.”
The former Miss USA winner shared a photo on her Instagram page with the caption, “May this day bring you rest and peace.”
