An 18-year-old girl was raped by a gang of five male friends. She is however under pressure from one of the suspect’s parents to drop the charges. They are promising to pay any amount she requests as compensation.
According to the twitter handle @damiloladeboraa telling the story, the girl was drugged by these boys before they took advantage of her. And since the matter was reported to the police, only two out of the five boys have been arrested. She alleged that ever since the police got involved, all they have done is to extort the young girls parents with no justice for her in sight.

Damilola also accused the police of being compromised and working in favour of one of the suspects as they seek ways to make the case die down. According to her, at the moment, the young girl is acting strange and her parents are worried about her mental wellbeing.

Reading about stories like this reminds you of the falsehood in the popular police clause, The police are your friend. If the system is one that actually protects the citizens especially the vulnerable, shouldn’t all five of the culprits be arrested by now? Well what i think is that the girl should’nt have droped the case and it easn’t right for the police to help the victims as well
