EveryEvery.ng reported that security sources had revealed plans by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra to break Kanu out of detention.
Kanu had reportedly asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to transfer him from the custody of the DSS to the Kuje Correctional Centre. Reacting to Kanu’sKanu’s request, security sources noted that the IPOB leader wants to be transferred to Kuje for a sinister reason.
According to sources, IPOB militants under the guise of Eastern Security Network are plotting to attack Kuje prison if security operatives move Kanu there.
A security officer who spoke under the condition of anonymity said there is a grand plan of a looming attack on the Kuje Correctional Facility following Kanu’sKanu’s plea to have him moved to the Kuje Prison.
The security source added that the IPOB fighters plan to ensure they get Kanu out by using propaganda and blackmail to get judicial and security officers to transfer their leader to a detention facility that they could quickly attack.
