A Daily Routine To Be Productive

Share

A daily routine to be productive seems far fetched; we need to adopt certain activities into our daily routine. The likes of Mark Zuckerberg, Barack Obama and Oprah all spoke about developing daily habits to become who they are today. I have heard several people say that routines are boring, which is understandable but not entirely true. Your mornings are the essential part of your day, the energy you start your morning with is what is going to drag on throughout your day, so it is crucial to start your mornings productively.

Many people often say they are not morning people; the truth is anyone can be a morning person with practice. It’s not an overnight achievement; I get some control over my life whenever I do all I have to do in the mornings. In fact, it makes me feel like I had a very productive day. Building in the new habits may seem difficult at first, but trust me, it would yield results in the long run.

I used to feel like the most unproductive person that ever existed, and that went on until I developed a routine that best suited me. I am just a writer who saw her life changed positively, I can’t force you to adopt these tips on having a productive day, but I would like you to sit and reflect and ask yourself these questions; do I feel exhausted and overwhelmed all day? Do I achieve all I want to accomplish during the day? Am I happy with the way my life is going? If you don’t like the response to these questions, then your day needs a makeover.

Every individual is different. Hence, what worked for me might not work for you; but experimenting would take you a step closer to finding what would work for you.

It was John C. Maxwell who said, “You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine”. In today’s world, it is wiser to work smarter and not harder, and developing a healthy morning ritual is a step in the right direction of achieving that. If you do each day right, you’ll do life right.

A Daily Routine to Being Productive

Key Elements Of Developing A Daily Routine To Be Productive

When developing a daily routine, the key elements that you should consider are the body, the mind, the soul, and the spirit.

The Body

The body is what we touch and see; it is our contact with the outer world. While sleeping, we lose moisture, so it is ideal to hydrate when we wake up. It is also important to work our body, and to do this can be as easy as a run, a jog, stretching, aerobics, dancing, basically anything that would keep your heart pumping and make you sweat. You need to move your body.

We are what we eat”; therefore, it is advised we start our day by eating something healthy. Most of us miss breakfast, and it is considered the most important meal of the day. We can’t correctly function when we skip breakfast; I am a living testimony.

The Soul

The soul is our inside, our thoughts, emotions and feelings. Working on our interiors could be as simple as absorbing good energy and purging lousy energy. Journaling and reading self-growth books are ways to work on the soul.

The Mind

A mind is a powerful place; therefore, it needs utmost care. I try my best to learn at least one new thing daily, read more books and tell myself good things. I realised that whatever you believe intends to work for you, so reassure myself, I tell myself that I will take on the day like a piece of cake.

The Spirit

Our spirituality is the connection and communication we have with a supreme being. Working on our spirit is as simple as praying, meditating, reading the holy book or listening to worship songs. Whoever or whatever you believe in doesn’t matter; you need to create a sense of interaction with the divine and something bigger than us.

Use these tips to take charge of your day and have a fruitful and productive day. You don’t have to infuse all of them at once; take baby steps. Be careful when picking your morning ritual because they could work in both negative and positive ways. Keep yourself open to trying new things till you find that routine that best suits you.
