Following Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba during their press conference, UEFA has vowed to punish any player who will do such again. Cristiano Ronaldo moved two Coca-cola bottles placed on the table while Paul Pogba moved a Heineken bottle in front of him during a press conference.
UEFA said teams at Euro 2020 could face fines if their players move drinks provided by sponsors at news conferences. The two sponsors of the Euro 2020 are not happy with what the players are doing, and so the organisers are set to fine individual teams if their players do it again.
According to reports, after Portugal captain Ronaldo removed two Coca-Cola bottles and encouraged people to drink water instead, the brand has lost millions of money already. However, it was not just Ronaldo who fired Coca-cola from today. Italy’s Manuel Locatelli also replaced Coca-Cola with water after their match on Wednesday.
Uefa’s Euro 2020 tournament director Martin Kallen said the players are obliged “through their federation of the tournament regulations to follow their rules. The doctor also said he understands the actions of players who, like Pogba, did such things for religious reasons. However, they said they would not find the player directly but the team.
