Super Eagles of Nigeria defender Tyronne Ebuehi is set to join top Serie A side on a season-long loan with Venezia from Portuguese club Benfica. New promoted Serie A side Venezia has contacted the Portuguese side, and they are willing to release the player for them on loan.
According to Sky Sport, both parties have already reached an agreement, and Tyronne Ebuehi will undergo medicals with the club this week examinations before completing the contract on paper. Venezia has the option to make a move permanent at the end of the season.
Ebuehi spent last season on loan at Dutch club FC Twente and scored one goal in his 33 league appearances. Twente did not want to extend his loan deal or make the deal a permanent one, so the player left the club.
The 25-year-old versatile Nigerian defender joined Benfica from Dutch side ADO Den Haag in 2018 on a five-year contract. The Nigeria international, however, missed the entire campaign due to injury.
