Twitter Users Bash Brymo for Controversial Post

Nigerian singer, Olawale Olofooro popularly known as Brymo made a controversial post on rapists on a day social media users were advocating for those murdered by rapists and has been lashed by some followers.

The ‘Klitoris’ singer has been known to be controversial with his posts in recent times. Although he’s considered as an intelligent artist, this perception of him as changed as Nigerians on Twitter felt he’s not doing too well in his reasoning.

The news of a 100-level-student of University of Benin, Uwalia Omozuwa who was raped till death went viral on social media platforms. The gruesome way by which she was murdered caused a lot of pains to Nigerians in a time another teenager was murdered by a Police officer in Lagos, Nigeria.

The #justiceforUwa trended and many posts about saying ‘No to Rape’ flooded the internet. Nigerians called for justice for Uwa as the perpetrators of her death is still unkown.

It was at this moment of grief and pain that Brymo made a controversial post. The artist who has been accused of rape in the past decided to test the anger of Nigerians on Twitter.

He tweeted @BrymOlawale ”Is Rapist a new word for anyone doing something of note these days?”

This words didn’t go well with his followers who doesn’t know his stand on this issue. Many who can’t find a meaning to his words then got him dragged all night.

Although the music artist is trying to ask if a rapist is a new word to call anyone important these days, it hasn’t gone well with followers on the app when others in the music industry are making their messages clear.
