UNILORIN student who attacked and beat up his female lecturer to coma has come out to give reasons whyhepouncedon Mrs Zakariyau.
The final year microbiology undergraduate, Salaudeen Waliu, revealed that Mrs Zakariyau, who doubles as his project supervisor, was inconsiderate in waving off his mandatory Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme, SIWES, which he missed due to some uncontrollable events.
While addressing student reporters yesterday at the UNILORIN security lodge after his arrest, Waliu, also popularly referred to as Captain Walz, further explained that he saw in a vision his lecturer, level supervisor, among other persons, planning his possible downfall.
Expatiating, Captain Wals hinted that he missed partaking in SIWES because he was arrested at the time for a crime he never committed, as there was a serious misunderstanding on why the police took him to jail.
He, however, claimed that his lecturer was first to attack when she threw a mug that scared him and triggered his anger, which eventually led to the beating into a coma.
Waliu made it known that Mrs Zakariyau did not fight back as he knew she could not fight him back, so he beat her and later dragged her out of her office to continue the beating.
“I dragged her out, and she ran. I chased and kept beating her before people came. I tried to run but was later caught by the school security,” said Waliu.
Adeleye Isaac, General Secretary of the Student Union, said the Union was aware of the ugly incident. Still, they’ve not had the opportunity to meet the student due to his transfer to the F-division police unit, but Waliu has been returned to the University security unit.
“The guy must have acted under the influence of a drug, which their administration condemns such.” and used the medium to tell the student populace to say no to the usage of harm and abuse drugs.
