The Bayelsa Governorship election Tribunal has nullified the governorship election in the state and ordered fresh election within 90 days.
The court nullified the election of Governor Douye Diri and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo In a majority judgment delivered by Justice Yunusa Musa.
Following the petition filed by the Advance National Democratic Party, ANDP, the tribunal held that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC unlawfully excluded the party from the November 16, 2019 governorship election in the state.
It further ordered that the petitioner should be included in the fresh election to be conducted within ninety days.
You will recall that Governor Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was sworn in as governor after the Supreme Court sacked David Lyon as governor-elect 24 hours before his inauguration.
