Professor Wole Soyinka
Following the emergence of Joe Biden as the 46th US President, Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has commended Americans for rejecting ex-President, Donald Trump.
Soyinka, who noted that the United States had redeemed itself by electing Joe Biden and his Vice, Kamala Harris said the country has effectively corrected its mistakes.
However, he stated that he had forgiven Americans for electing Trump, whom he described as a racist.
Soyinka Lambasts Trump as he also expressed satisfaction with the democratic forces of the United States for correcting the error of electing the former President.
Speaking on his green card said he considers it unnecessary to renew the card.
Soyinka noted that he warned Americans about the impending danger of electing Trump, all to no avail, hence his decision to tear his green card to shreds.
He said the Capitol building attack by pro-Trump rioters would make Americans understand the fragile nature of democracy.
