Salawa Abeni blackmailer
Nigerian singer, Queen Salawat Ibiwunmi Abeni, better known as Salawa Abeni has opened up on her recent blackmail experience with a 19-year-old boy.
Salawa Abeni has been making waves in the Nigerian music industry since the ’70s. The 59-year-old singer was in the news a few months ago after she released her nude pictures online.
She shared her experience during a chat on how she survived the blackmail from the teenage boy. She revealed that the boy called him saying he has her nudes pictures and then sent her some of the pictures for proof.
In her words ”At a point, he made a video call, but I didn’t pick it. After that, he said I should get back to him so that we can negotiate. It was then I decided to post the pictures online by myself after consulting my children”
”Till today, I don’t know where I took the nude pictures he’s talking about. Maybe I took the pictures in the hospital or while I was with my partner, because that’s what he wanted to hammer on”
Salawa Abeni thank God for seeing her through the ordeal because the blackmailer wants to spoil the career she built since she was a child.
The ‘Waka’ queen disclosed she has met the boy who told her he’s 19-years-old and her mother is 40 years old which makes her old enough to be her grandmother.
The blackmailer who is in police custody also told her that she saw her memory card on the floor in his school at Yaba College of Technology.
Salawa Abeni then said she scolded the boy for not thinking of building his career in order to encourage other youths.
The famous Yoruba singer started her career as a 13-year-old after listening to the songs of Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, King Sunny Ade, and Ebenezer Obey.
She is married to fuji legend, Kollington Ayinla and their son, Big Chef is also a musician.
