Colombian singer Shakira, and Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique, have announced the call off of their 11 years of relationship.
The estranged lovers announced their separation on Saturday after a series of speculations linking to affairs outside of their relationship.
45-year-old Shakira and 35-year-old Pique started dating in 2011 and have two sons together Sasha Piqué Mebarak and Milan Piqué Mebarak.
The statement released by the duo read, “We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our utmost priority, we request respect for (our) privacy.”
The ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ crooner has sold more than 60 million albums and is a three-time Grammy winner, in her Latin American rock genre of music.
Spanish footballer, Pique, won the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championship and is a three-time Champions League winner with Barcelona.
