There was a closed-door meeting among Governor’s of the All Progressives Congress, APC, where details of their gathering recently surfaced.
It was learnt that the party officials met to prevent a possible collapse that emanated from an existing internal crisis.
The meeting was also meant to address critical issues that concerned pre-preparation for the upcoming national party convention.
They also gathered to discuss ways to avoid any pending setbacks in the forthcoming convention, as the Chairman, Progressive Governors’ Forum, PGF and Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, further hinted that the forum discussed ways to solidify relations among members.
At the meeting, all the governors concluded to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari and discuss the debated clause in the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, which was recently made available by the National Assembly and seeks to impose direct primary on political parties.
The bill is currently awaiting Presidential assent, as Atiku Bagudu was, however, silent on the zoning arrangement for party offices at the national level.
