Santi Cazorla Set to Join Oil Money Club
Former Arsenal 35-year-old midfielder Santi Cazorla played his last game for Spanish club Villarreal on Sunday and his contract has now expired. The player is set now to join oil money club Qatari club Al Sadd where former Barcelona star player is managing as the head coach, he will be joining his team-mate Xavi, who has extended his deal at the club until 2021.
According to the oil money club they said in a tweet: “We have reached an agreement with Santi Cazorla.” “He will reach Doha soon to complete the formalities and join the team.” Santi Cazorla played 180 times across six seasons for Arsenal between 2012 and 2018 and spent the last two seasons playing for Villarreal for the second time in his career.
Manchester City’s David Silva, 34, is also being linked with a move to Qatar, with Al-Duhail said to be keen on the Spanish midfielder. Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has said he will not force the player to sign a new contract with them if he does not want stay at the English side, but from all indications the player could be leaving to join his follow country man Santi Cazorla at Qatar.
