Following England’s successful move to the round of 16 in the Euro 2020, England and Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has come out to say England is battle-ready to face any opponent in the next stage of the competition.
The former Liverpool man said to bring on Portugal, Germany, or France in the round of 16 of Euro 2020, that they are ready to face them. England secured qualification to the knockout stages of the competition after beating the Czech Republic 1-0 on Tuesday, of which Raheem Sterling is the goal scorer of the game.
England will face the runners-up from Group F in the last 16, likely to be France, Germany, or Portugal, and Sterling is very positive of his team. The player in an interview stated that they are not afraid to face any of the three teams in the next round of the competition.
According to him, he said: “At some point, you are going to have to face the best teams.
That’s the whole point of being in the tournament, which is to challenge yourself.” “Our objective from the beginning was to win the group. It’s tournament football, and things are going to be difficult at times, but we need to keep doing what we’re doing as a team which is being solid and taking our chances when we can.”
