President Muhammadu Buhari has taken steps to replace the Ebonyi State-born dead man appointed by him into the Federal Character Commission.

He has written to the Senate seeking approval for the replacement of 58-years-old late Tobias Chukwuemeka, who was reported to have died even before his appointment.

President’s Buhari’s right to make such appointment is entrenched in the Provision of Section 156(1) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended.

In his letter to the Senate, he had substituted Chukuwemeka’s name with that of on Afamefuna Osi another indigene of Ebonyi State while the other nominees are Alakayi Mamman from Nasarawa State, Moses. A from Delta State and Wasiu Kayode from Lagos State.

There was outrage after the news of another dead man surfacing in President Buhari’s nomination list as this was not the first time such has been recorded under his administration.
