Italian based Nigerian Serie C player by the King Paul Akpan Udoh becomes the first footballer and Nigerian to contract the dreaded disease Coronavirus. King Paul Akpan Udoh who is a Juventus player loaned to Italian Serie C side Pianese has been diagnosed with the virus. He tested positive to disease on the 27th of February and he is currently under quarantine.
The 22-year-old Nigerian started his career with Reggiana before moving to Juventus in 2011 before been loaned back to the club. The Pianese attacker was later loan from Reggiana to Serie B side Virtus Lanciano from Juventus youth team in 2016 with an option to buy. He returned to Juventus after an unsuccessful loan spill he was returned to Juventus.
King Paul Akpan Udoh who is Nigerian Serie C player has played for over three clubs in the Italian side both the senior and junior division. He has played for Pontedera, Fernana, FEeno and Viareggio brfore finally joining Pianese where he contracted the coronavirus. The Nigerian Serie C player is the first Nigerian to have contracted the disease and also the first football player to contract the disease.
Coronavirus started in china and has since spread across neighboring countries and Europa with Italy being the European country with the highest cases. Just recently Nigeria registered its first coronavirus incident which was brought in by an Italian. Although the health minister of the country has assured the citizens to go about their normal businesses people are still asking how safe they are now seeing that the disease has no cure yet.
