Ogun State Police Command has apprehended one Mr. Kingsley Essien for trafficking his wife into prostitution and selling his two-year-old son for some unknown reason.
It was gathered that the man, aged thirty-six, got the sum of ₦1.4 million for pimping and trafficking the mother of his child to a trafficker in Mali and giving out his son at the rate of ₦600,000.
Unfortunately for Essien, he was nabbed by the police when his wife, Bright Essien lodged a complaint at Agbara divisional headquarters, that her husband sold her into prostitution to Mali under the pretence of securing a job for her.
While briefing the incident to journalists in the state capital, Abeokuta, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in OgunState, said that according to the suspect’s wife, sometime in October 2021, her hubby informed her of securing a job for her in Mali, where he claimed to have assisted many people for greener pastures, when the otherwise was the case.
According to the PPRO, the wife said she had no suspicion that her husband would sell her into prostitution right until the time she got to Bamako in Mali, that was when she discovered that she had been deceived.
He explained further that the mother of one, after being forced into prostitution, found her way to the Nigerian embassy in Mali, where she was assisted back to the country.
