Paul Pogba Takes Firm Action Against Euro 2020 Sponsor

Paul Pogba becomes the next player to refused to endorse one of Euro 2020’s official sponsors, Heineken, as it is an alcoholic drink and is forbidden in his religion. The player followed the path of Cristiano Ronaldo, who took out two bottles of Coca-cola, an official sponsor of the Euro 2020.

Paul Pogba Joins Ronaldo as he Remove Heineken Bottle from Conference Table

The 28-year-old Manchester United and France playmaker left football fans disgusted with tournament staff after doing what he did. Many people in his defence say that since Paul Pogba is a Muslim and the drink is against his religion, it is only proper for him to take it out and not look like he is endorsing it.

One of the supporters said: “Putting an alcoholic beverage in front of a Muslim is straight disrespect… You can’t blame Pogba here.” Another supporter in a tweet said: “He’s a Muslim. Why put beer in front of him? Sponsors must be rational.”

A third added: “He is a Muslim; you should respect his choice.” Also, another fan said: “Quite understandable that as a Muslim, Pogba wouldn’t want to be seen promoting beer.” One simply stated: “Shoulda removed the Heineken logo/name behind him too.” The press conference was held after his superb performance in their 1-0 win over Germain that made him Uefa Star of the Match.
